Dr. Susan has been actively involved in horsemanship activities and horse ownership since age 9. Initially participating in eventing, show jumping and dressage disciplines at the competitive level. A one-year intensive program in the UK earned her the British Horse Society teaching and

horse husbandry qualifications following which she taught in the Calgary area. 

When a degree and career in  medicine, steered her away from equine competition, she maintained recreational horsemanship by guiding pack trips in the back country of Banff National Park, and introducing new riders to trail riding.

Currently she and her husband run Homeplace Ranch, a trail riding facility, caring for 20+

horses. Dr. Susan is responsible for their “medical” care.

Over the past several

years, Susan has dedicated her focus on building a busy primary care medical business in the City of Calgary. She has served as advisor for many medical related businesses, been involved with the professional colleges for

her profession, and in 2022 completed her Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) certification.

Kristi Luehr is a hoof care educator and the founder of the Okanagan School of Natural Hoof Care (OKSNHC). 

A lifelong student of the horse, she is certified through the Canadian Farrier School and the Oregon School of Natural Hoof Care, with additional certificates in equine massage and equine dentistry. 

Kristi is deeply passionate about continued learning and is committed to supporting horses through a whole-horse approach that blends sound hoof care with biomechanics, movement, and overall well being.  

 Danielle is a horsewoman, mother, wife, and educator with over 20 years of professional experience in the equine industry. Her career has spanned a wide range of disciplines, from laying solid foundations on green horses to teaching at competitive hunter/jumper barns, working in auction yards and on ranches, and owning and operating a holistic horse care and bodywork business.

Danielle holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Certificate in Liberal Arts from Simon Fraser University, along with education in Human Resources from Mount Royal University. 

Currently, Danielle is faculty at Olds College in Equine Programming, where she teaches in both Equine Massage and Equine Care. In this role, all of her education and lived experience come together, bridging practical horsemanship, science-based care, and compassionate handling to educate the next generation of equine professionals.

Heather is an accomplished business leader with a passion for marketing and business growth. She is an expert in education programming and grew Equi-Health Canada from a small Alberta based start-up to a national company.

Heather's focus is now on continuing to build the Canine and Feline First Aid program through out North America.
